Hello ,
This week the EBR team got our hands on another of Rad Power Bikes' latest redesigns as we reviewed the RadRover 6 Plus Step-Through model.
The more time we've spent on the redesigned Rad bikes, the more we've found to like about them. And since we recently reviewed the high step model of the Rover 6 Plus, we were able to get unique insight on the battery capabilities as we changed up the max range test this time around with the step-through model.
Speaking of batteries, when you're looking through the many options of e-bikes out there you will inevitably run into a bunch of numbers on the battery part of the spec sheet that you may or may not be familiar with. 48V, 14 Ah (672Wh)... What does that all mean and why does it
matter?
We have a couple of different articles that cover what the numbers mean, and how it all translates to expected battery range on e-bikes. Check out the posts below for more details.

The RadRover model from Rad Power Bikes has long been the benchmark with which all other affordable electric fat bikes are compared. It’s a high bar to clear for other brands, with the RadRover boasting quality, performance and an economical price point
that is difficult to compete with — to put it short, it’s a lot of e-bike for the money.
It seems only fitting that one of the only companies that can best Rad is Rad itself. They seemingly have done this with their newest version of the RadRover, the RadRover 6 Plus...
E-bike batteries can be confusing; you might see a battery described as 36 volt or 10 amp hour or 500 watt-hours. Which figures should you be looking at and what do the differing battery measurements mean for the performance of an e-bike? Here EBR
demystifies the subject.
When you are considering what battery numbers do mean it helps to have a bit of background knowledge on the three basic units of measurement you commonly see in battery descriptions: Volts, Amps, and Watt Hours...
The electric bike world has plenty of sprinters, heavy lifters and high jumpers, but what about marathon runners?
There’s lots of options for long range electric bikes on the market today, from dual-battery eMTBs to sleek super commuters and everything in between. But, with batteries being the most expensive part of an e-bike, the question quickly changes from how far you’d like to go to how much money you’re willing to spend...
