Trek FX+ 2 Electric Bike Review, 2023

With the FX+ 2, Trek added an internal battery and small rear hub motor to its massively popular FX city bike, which gives its rider a subtle but effective boost for zipping around town. But this e-bike has certainly not lost its soul; the FX+ 2 has clearly been designed to maintain the overall feel of its non-electric cousin. In the following Trek FX+ 2 review, we’ll take a close look at the specs, performance, and ride experience through the eyes of the testers here at Electric Bike Report.

When we first saw the Trek FX+ 2, we had to do a double take to make sure we received the electric version; there is really only one obvious indication that this is an e-bike! That surprise continued with our first test rides; aside from an initial boost of speed from the small 250W rear-hub motor, the bike’s torque sensor and tuning provided a ride experience that was remarkably similar to a mid-drive motor, and therefore more akin to a traditional bicycle.

Himiway Debuts the Rhino and Rhino Pro

With spring being just around the corner for most of us, we are getting excited about some of the new e-bikes that are being launched. Himiway has announced several we are excited about. Himiway offers their Cobra model in two versions, the Cobra and the Cobra Pro. The two e-bikes are essentially the same, but with one major difference—the Cobra is built with a hub motor while the Cobra Pro is built with a mid-drive motor. Himiway has done the same thing with their new Rhino model, offering both the Rhino, which has a hub motor, and the Rhino Pro, which is built with a mid-drive motor.

The Rhino Pro is an unusual e-bike for several reasons. The frame design leads those differences. The 6061 aluminum frame is designed to hold two internal batteries, one in the down tube and the other in the top tube. The dual-battery system isn’t an option, either; the two batteries come standard.

Himiway Debuts First Non-Fat Tire Model With The Rambler

Himiway has announced their new models for 2023 and there are a few surprises in there for this popular maker of fat-tire e-bikes. For the first time, Himiway has introduced an e-bike with tires narrower than 4 in. The Rambler is a city/commuter e-bike that comes in three different versions, two with a hub motor and another version with a mid-drive motor.

The Rambler ships ready for commutes; it includes front and rear lights, fenders and a rear rack. And because the Rambler is meant to stay on paved surfaces, Himiway gave it a different wheel size.
