Aventon had an instant classic on their hands when the Level ST debuted. With the Aventon Level 2 ST
that we were sent to review, we had high hopes and expectations for this e-bike to build on an already great foundation.
Aventon made only a few small changes, but they made a big impact. Dumping the cadence sensor for a new torque sensor was a big deal because it significantly changes the bike’s performance as well as the quality of the ride. As aficionados
of active pedaling on e-bikes, we have been chomping at the bit to see how the torque sensor affects the new Level 2 STs ride. Right out of the box, it was noticeably more geared with a traditional feel in mind. The torque sensor made it feel like the rider was more active in pedaling, but you still had the ‘easy’ option of higher assist levels and throttle.
