Superhuman Bandit II

The Superhuman Bandit II is a moped style e-bike with dual suspension that will grab the attention of moped fans looking for a smooth ride. With a coil spring rear mono-shock and an MXC hydraulic suspension fork, the Bandit II is comfortable AND comes at a great price (MSRP $1899). We kept that in mind as we dove into testing and started our Superhuman Bandit II Review, as this might be one of the only full suspension moped-style e-bikes on the market currently for that price.

With a low-mounted 840Wh battery, 750W motor, steel BMX handlebars, motorcycle style headlight and 24” long seat, there is a lot to like on the Bandit II. This is especially true for the cost-conscious rider when comparing this to something like a Super73, that starts around $3.5K for a full suspension model.

Saris Door County 2 Hitch Rack Review

Saris’ Door County 2 is a hitch-mounted rack that uses an electric motor to simplify raising and lowering your electric bike when loading and unloading from the rack. The main benefit is it eliminates you having to manually lift and lower your e-bike, making transporting much easier for you. Most riders will appreciate this because electric bikes tend to be heavier than traditional bikes (and we certainly don’t want to do heavy lifting after a ride!).

We got to check out the Saris Door County 2 to see how well it lifts and transports e-bikes. It can transport two e-bikes, up to 60 lbs. per bike. We used several bikes for testing, including a commuter, cruiser and adventure bike. All of our bikes have 26” tires that are no wider than the rack’s 3” limit. Installing the rack was as easy as any other rack, just slide in the 2” hitch into your vehicle’s insert tube, and secure it with the locking pin.

We love e-trikes. Love them. By offering a rider two forms of assistance—both a motor and stability—e-trikes offer many people who thought they could no longer ride a chance to get out and feel the wind on their skin.

What we don’t love is trying to move them by any method other than in the saddle. While some of the new designs can be made more compact with a folding handlebar or even frame, they haven’t been easy to move without a pickup or SUV. Until now.

First Look Review at the Juiced Scrambler X2

Juiced Bikes has introduced the followup to their popular Scrambler e-moped. The new Scrambler X2 is an evolution of the original Scrambler, but the changes are largely a matter of degrees. Put another way, they changed the bathwater, but kept the baby.

In our spec review of the Juiced Bikes Scrambler X2 we will look at both the features that made this such a winner for Juiced as well as the updates that will make this a worthy successor to one of the original e-mopeds.

Let’s hit the major changes. First up is an upgrade from the original 750W hub motor to a 1000W Bafang brushless, geared hub motor. Second is a corresponding battery upgrade from 676Wh to an 811Wh battery which Juiced estimates will give riders as much as 55 mi. per charge.
