Few names in motorcycles command the respect that the Harley Davidson brand does. Now that company has it's own electric bike brand, Serial 1, that's out to establish itself as a top-tier name amongst the e-bike crowd

This week Sam spoke with Serial 1's brand manger, Aaron Frank, to better learn more about the company, their process, and the relationship with Harley Davidson.

As we've had more and more e-bikes roll through our offices we've noted a few that standout in their looks and design. We love seeing creativity and customization and we are ready to welcome more of it with open arms.

This week we took a look at some of those nicer designs and the competition in the industry that is driving style.

E-bike Industry Leaders: Harley Davidson’s Serial 1

Named after Harley Davidson’s oldest-known motorcycle, Serial 1 is a spinoff of the storied American motorcycle company dedicated to building some of the best electric bicycles in the world.

Though its own standalone company, Serial 1 is based on Harley Davidson’s campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is backed by Harley’s world-class product development and engineering teams.

Serial 1 is a relative newcomer to the e-bike ecosystem, but their cutting-edge city and commuting e-bikes have already earned a reputation as particularly well designed electric bicycles.

Cool E-Bikes: Aesthetic Trends We See & Like

Electric bikes have come a long way from the days of DIY klunkers and bikes with obnoxious battery and motor placements.

Technology is better, designs are nicer and e-bikes look much cooler than they once did. Many e-bikes are now so discreet that they’re hardly discernible from their non-motorized cousins, and those that are look much sleeker and more integrated. Some companies are even giving buyers the option to fully customize their bikes, making them look exactly as they like.
