Here is a modular bike design from Italy that allows 3 different configurations; a normal e-bike, a front load e-cargo bike, and a front load e-cargo trike.

This is pretty cool!  Invented by a former road motorcycle racer, the RoadRACE Power Pod easily adds electric assist to a hand cycle or tricycle.
